Abstract

Abstract Bacterial cell division is the process in which a bacterial cell is split into two daughter cells, each with a copy of the chromosome. It occurs through formation of the Z ring that recruits additional division proteins to form the septal ring, which leads to the formation of the septum separating the daughter cells.
